Here are steps that you can take in your present life which will help you to access higher planes of awareness and which will enrich your understanding and allow you to enjoy the unfolding of the mystery which is both your universe and the macrocosmic universe manifesting the Divine Will,

Light upon Light

“So represent your needs constantly, and never be without remembrance of Him. For the remembrance of Him is strength and feathers and wings to the bird of the spirit. If that purpose is wholly realised, that is Light upon Light. By the remembrance of God, little by little the inward heart becomes illumined and your detachment from the world is realised.”

The lower self (the nafs) is the veil between the Throne and the heart. When this veil is torn and a door opens in the heart, like springs toward like.
Light rises toward light and light comes down upon light, and it is “light upon light”*.
